Bisexual MSP shortlisted in Stonewall awards

The bisexual MSP for Glasgow, Patrick Harvie, has been shortlisted for Politician of the Year in this year’s Stonewall awards.  The MSP was one of just two Green Party members to retain their seats in the last Scottish Parliament elections, and is up against the Lib Dem Alex Carlile and Labour’s Lord Alli, Maria Eagle MP and Emily Thornberry MP. He is currently tipped for the leadership of the Scottish Green Party as it moves from a dual-leader structure to having a single leader.

There are nominations in nine categories and the nomination of Julie Bindel for Journalist of the Year is bound to attract attention and controversy in LGBT circles given her outspoken views on trans issues.
