BiPhoria joins Tel Aviv vigil

Manchester bi group BiPhoria cut short their meeting tonight to join a candlelit vigil in the city’s Sackville Park in response to the shootings at an LGBT community centre in Tel Aviv this weekend.

BiPhoria chair Jen Yockney said, “it was a moving gathering and the bi group was unanimous in wanting to cut short our monthly meeting to join the vigil. Our meeting, at a lesbian, gay and bisexual centre in the heart of the Manchester gay village was so much like the gay youth group those young people were at in Tel Aviv: somewhere they really thought was a safe space.”

Other similar events are taking place all week across the UK and worldwide.
