Putting Brum on the Map

This weekend’s Birmingham BiFest was a huge success with lots of new faces, busy crafts corner and lively discussion group sessions. The first major bi event in the city since BiCon 1995 has put Birmingham – and Brum Bi Group – firmly on the UK bi map.

Natalya from the organising team told BiMedia.org: “We are delighted with how the first Brum BiFest turned out. Over 50 people came for some or all of the day. We had over 50% feedback rate and it was overwhelmingly positive, praising the workshops, picnic food, and friendly atmosphere.”

“It was great to organise an event as part of a larger Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans festival and we’d like to extend our thanks to the SHOUT Festival organisers and to ABplus for use of their lovely venue.”

“I’d like to thank everyone who volunteered to run the registration desk, move furniture around, run sessions and the craft table, did food prep and most helpfully shared the cleaning up duties throughout the day.”

Well done Natalya, the rest of the organising team, and volunteers… a cracking first time event!
