Brum, Sheffield and London meetups

Tuesday night is a busy night for bi groups with Birmingham, London and Sheffield local groups all having meetings lined up for November 8th.

Saturday has the Brighton Bothways coffee meetup, while also this Saturday is the third Birmingham BiFest

Birmingham’s big bi weekend

A week Saturday is Brum BiFest: a one-day get-together for bi people and our allies.

BiFest is about celebrating and exploring bisexuality in the form of bi-friendly surroundings where there are workshops, discussion sessions and chill out spaces. This year’s programme is not yet out but we understand will feature favourites from last time – morris dancing and bi-robics – plus speed dating and community stalls.

As last time, it will be at the Nightingale Club – Essex House, Kent Street, Birmingham B5 6RD, Saturday 12th November – from 11am to 430pm.

There is lift access up to and adapted-toilets on the middle floor of the Nightingale. The venue is about 10 minutes walk from Birmingham New Street and 15 minutes walk from the other mainline rail stations in Birmingham.

Brum makes a date

Brum Bi Group have set the date for Birmingham’s third BiFest.

It will be held in November, as part of the city’s annual ‘Shout’ LGBT cultural festival season. BiFest is a one-day get-together for bi people and our allies, about celebrating and exploring bisexuality in the form of bi-friendly surroundings where there are workshops, discussion sessions and chill out spaces.

More information about the programme for the day will be available next month but for now, pop these details in your diary:

Saturday 12 November 11am – 5pm
Venue: Nightingale Club (Middle Floor), Kent Street, Birmingham B5

Oxford Off

The organisers of the second Oxford BiFest – set for a month’s time – have announced the cancellation of the event. A public statement from the steering committee has been posted on the LiveJournal community ukbitalk.

This month’s Big Bi Fun Day and September’s BiCon are organised entirely separately and are unaffected by this announcement.

There is likely to be a smaller bi meet-up on the date planned for Oxford BiFest so those in the area or who have already made travel plans to be there will have a bi meet at which to get together.
