Following the announcement that bi.org is to close from March 13th, the international web hub for Bi Visibility Day events has migrated to a new address.
The old September23.bi.org web domain will go as part of the loss of bi.org so please update links and bookmarks to www.BiVisibilityDay.com
The facebook page, tumblr and twitter account remain as before.
Hundreds of twitter users took part in a mass tweet for Bi Visibility Day this morning to help boost awareness of bisexuality.
In a tweet with a social reach of over half a million people a message went out:
Happy #BiVisibilityDay twitter-friends! Raise the #BiPride flag & click to learn more: september23.bi.org
Among those taking part were ILGA Europe and The Trevor Project as well as the more ‘usual suspects’ like Bisexual Index, Stonewall and Bi Community News.
The ‘thunderclap’ tweet is the first of two today – one timed for morning in the UK and Europe, the other similarly scheduled for a USA & Canadian audience. The later tweet will fire this afternoon for users in Britain: you can still join in by signing up with your twitter account here.
Students at Manchester University are getting an extra splash of bisexuality awareness today.
Across campus all the university computers have had their screensavers changed to a message about Bi Visibility Day, even including a link to our Facebook page and Twitter.
The student union building is also hosting a bi info stall, while the bi flag flies from buildings on campus.
The university is the largest single-site university in the UK with around 42,000 students.
Bravo, Manchester Uni!
Manchester – tonight sees the launch of the new edition of Getting Bi In A Gay / Straight World.
A hugely popular publication, more than ten thousand copies of the first edition have been distributed in the UK and more overseas including a Spanish-language edition.
Thanks to kind donations a second edition has been released this year with thousands more copies printed to reach people all across Britain.
Organised by BiPhoria, at Taurus bar, 1 Canal Street, from 7.30pm.
