This then shows the diversity of the community, the way that &#8216;being gay&#8217; is a personal pride, et cetera.<\/p>\n<p>If you ask 50 bisexuals what being bisexual means to them, you&#8217;ll get 50 answers too. But apparently that&#8217;s because bisexuality is confusing and no-one agrees what it means. What&#8217;s going on here?<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re being sold a narrative. &#8220;Bisexuals are confused&#8221;, &#8220;Bisexuals can&#8217;t make up their minds.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If you asked 50 people what biochemistry is then the consensus will be &#8216;some sort of cross between biology and chemistry&#8217;.<br \/>Ask them what a cat is and the majority won&#8217;t say &#8220;a small carnivorous mammal domesticated and kept as a pet&#8221;, because that&#8217;d sound glib. Instead they&#8217;ll each talk about what a cat is <i>to them<\/i>. Companion, menace, cuteness, kitten, ratcatcher, captioned on the internet.<\/p>\n<p>That doesn&#8217;t mean no-one agrees what the word &#8220;cat&#8221; means. They think it&#8217;s obvious what it means, and skip straight to the interpretation.<\/p>\n<p>The same thing goes for identities.
