brick;<br \/>How to spit,<br \/>How to hit their mark<br \/>On my bloody back.<br \/>They\u2019re easy to spot,<br \/>I can try to avoid<br \/>But their strong arms<br \/>Make my bones and my spirt crack.<\/p>\n<p>And then there are well-meaning racists,<br \/>With soft words<br \/>And good intent.<br \/>And silence as your life goes down the golden road<br \/>To hell.<br \/>They make you hurt.<br \/>They leave no mark.<br \/>And they smile at you all the while.<br \/>How can I avoid<br \/>What I can hardly see?<br \/>So many of them in alternative communities.<br \/>And when I bleed<br \/>The pain is on the inside<br \/>My lungs fill with blood<br \/>From their two-faced lies.<\/p>\n<p>Must I choose<br \/>Between a kick, a bruise<br \/>And those who dismiss, withhold and use?<br \/>I can dress physical scars<br \/>With bandages and gauze.<br \/>How can I soothe?<br \/>How can I heal?<br \/>The disdain they hold me in their eyes?<br \/>Never being seen as human<br \/>By an enemy who smiles.<br \/>It makes me doubt my own mind.<br \/>But racism is a tool to keep folk like me down<br \/>Whether a punch to my face<br \/>Or destruction with a
