To our dismay, Manchester Pride has called in the liquidators,<\/strong> as you may have seen in the press<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It’s not the first time this has happened – as we’ve been around for more than thirty years we’ve seen other Manchester Pride organising groups come and go, though as this one lasted more than twenty years people got used to it being a stable fixture.<\/p>\n

There’s an immediate impact for all the people left out of pocket having been working at the Summer 2025 event – whether performers or the less visible people doing the infrastructure of the event like running sound systems or making sure staging is secure. And of course the organisation had a staff team who we expect are finding their pay missing having run up lots of time off on the busy Bank Holiday weekend.<\/p>\n

We are also concerned for the LGBT and HIV groups that would have had funding for project work from the funding arm of the organisation.<\/p>\n

It seems certain though that there will be some kind of Manchester Pride event next summer. Hope to see you there!<\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
