Canal Street Gets The Message

Our sign is back up on Canal Street for the run up to Bi Visibility Day. “This banner is on the fence. Bisexuals aren’t.”

It is an annual attempt to start conversation in our city’s famed ‘gay village’ about bi inclusion and visibility, just yards from where the first Bi Visibility Day was marked in Manchester in 1999 with our bi stall.

We’ve done it each year since 2017. This would be the ninth year – except in 2020 we were not allowed. So this is the eighth time, and the third version of the banner as they do face some damage from the elements and we needed to update the image to reflect that we no longer use Twitter.

As Manchester City Council no longer let us put it up on Sackville Gardens we are grateful to local business and housing complex Kampus for letting us use their fence.
