So this year I’d like to remind youse that bi+ folks are DIVERSE! I am #nonbinary. I am #bisexual. I am #Black. Yes all those things can exist in one person! I’m the only one who gets to decide how to identify. I long ago stopped debating with people who wanted to argue about which word to use: Bisexual or #Pansexual. The vast majority of these arguments are a derailing tactic, which are #biphobic, #panphobic and #transphobic all at the same time. These arguments are led by folks who rarely give a toss about us. The word #Lesbian used to mean (and still does sometimes) a person who was born in Lesbos Greece. Most folks can appreciate that language changed over time & are fine with the word Lesbian as a sexual orientation. The same goes for #Gay, which used to mean Happy. Again, language changed over time. Folks are fine with using the word Gay as a sexual orientation. The word #bi used to only mean two. Suddenly the whole bloody #monosexual world wants to scream that we should call ourselves something else. Language changes over time, but it seems the irrational fear, hatred and avoidance of bisexuals do not. So if you want to look like a jackass, please go right ahead and use that hateful argument – it’s a great warning for the rest of us that we should avoid you entirely. #HappyBiVisibilityDay everyone! Don’t be a jackass. #BiPride #BlackBisexualLivesMatter

BiBloggers was launched in September 2010 following a bisexual blogging workshop at the 10th International Conference on Bisexuality in London, UK.

Jen Yockney brought the idea of a site that shared bi blogs to the workshop and a couple of weeks later, with hosting from BiMedia.org, the site was born.
